WildHare Vintage Christmas Faire........

Merry Christmas!!!

Well.....almost! It will be Christmas at the WildHare Vintage Christmas this weekend!

It has been a long time since I have pulled together an event before the holidays. This year though, a new venue fell into my lap and I couldn't resist. Thank goodness for great vendors who jumped into the fray!

Friday December 6 from 10 AM to 8 PM (including First Friday Art Walk) and Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM. We will be the first event held in the new Purple Moon Gallery Event Center and Auction House! Formerly the Scott's Sporting Goods Store at 224 North Main in Old Town Pocatello. Most of the locals have probably shopped there a hundred times!!!

Featuring dozens of vendors on three floors we will be the largest event of this kind in Eastern Idaho. Available for purchase......antiques, collectibles, furniture, vintage jewelry, linens, cowboy stuff, girl stuff, rusty and dusty, shabby and chic, and everything in between!  The perfect event to find the perfect gift for you AND those on your list!

Admission is still just $2.00 for adults (for both days) and kids 12/under are free.......

Plenty of great restaurants in Old Town. A coffee shop one door down. A bakery a few doors down. (Today we ate at the newest joint, Villano's and it was really good, but only if you like a good pizza or salad.........)

Invite your friends. Invite your family. Come and meet and greet your old favorite vendors and meet some new ones! It is a "not to miss" event......Can't wait to see you!

WildHare Vintage Flea!!!

Such fun gathering stuff.....
OK......Here is comes.....Ready or not! (And, hopefully we are all ready!) The WildHare Vintage Flea opens on Friday, September 20th at 10:00 AM. UNLESS......you win the opportunity to come in and shop ONE hour early!!!
All you have to do is leave a comment HERE on this blog and YOU will be entered!!! I can hardly wait to see who wins.......Someone will also win (from the same list) WildHare Money to spend at any booth or booths you choose at the market!!!
Share with your friends.....please?!!! And, let me know how you want to be contacted when you win!!!!

Details about the WildHare Vintage Flea!  The vendors move in on Thursday the 19th.....all day long! Oh.....did you know that we have two buildings this fall? At the Bannock County Fairgrounds!!! We have a bunch of vendors in the Blue Barn which is across the drive-way from Building B where we have been for years! On Friday morning, September 20th, we swing open the doors at 10:00 AM and stay open until 7:00 PM. Saturday morning, September 21st we open at 9:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM.....at which time the vendors will pack up the few things that they have left and head back home......wherever that is......they come from all directions just to bring you the best of their best......

Admission is $2.00 for adults with kids 12 and under free.

Food and beverages will be available on site. In fact, the Culinary Arts Class from Pocatello High will be there having a bake sale......I hear yummy stuff is on the menu!!!

Music off and on throughout the weekend. Saturday afternoon from Noon - 2:00 the Hot Flash Band will be there! If you haven't heard these gals before you are in for a huge treat.....they are amazing!!! If you have heard them before.......you are really in for a treat to get to see them again!!!

Local author John Brian will be there selling his new book, "Ghosts of Pocatello" which will make a fabulous gift for friends and family for Christmas. I think they are also giving away a couple of tickets to their "Haunted History Tour" so if you having been wanting to go you might have a chance to go for free!!!

Also.....coming home is Darin Adams!!! He has written a book called, "Lights Camera Passion!" He will be there selling his book and catching up with old friends........and knowing Darin, he will know everyone in the place by the time he leaves.

I think that you will be able to buy raffle tickets for the Shirt Off His Back quilt that my quilt group donated to the Pocatello Free Clinic......like the quilt from a couple of years ago that we donated to the Relay for Life, this quilt is made from the shirts of men (and boys) from around the community who generously gave "The shirt off their backs" so that others could be healthy!!! Please support them by buying raffle tickets.....I still run into the gal who won the last raffle and she is as excited today as she was the night she won the quilt....$1.00 a ticket or 6 for $5.00.........

Sorry....another epistle.....but you know me.....once I get going.......just takes me a while to get going.

See you in a week?!!! Hope so......one of my favorite parts of this market is seeing so many good friends! I am blessed beyond words.......thanks for making it so.

WildHare Vintage Flea

Getting ready for the WildHare Vintage Flea
I am really lucky to have among my cherished friends a talented (actually multi-talented) photographer and writer! I would love to thank Candis Schow for all of her hard work. She gathered "stuff" from all over my house to set up her photo shoot. It was almost dark when she took this photo and we lit the whole front yard with shop lights! I felt very special.....so thanks Candis. You will be able to meet her in her booth, Alice and Hatter at the Vintage Flea!!! Enter Jenn Wilhelm who just happened to be going home from a shoot that she was doing at Channel 6....and had a whole truck load of fun "merchandise" that "just might" be in her Lively Grace booth at the WildHare Vintage Flea.....we had such fun. I have to admit, that I liked the way one little corner of my basement looked so much after Candis finished her magic that I have yet to put anything away!!!

And.....these are a few of my favorite things!
Don't you agree......how could anyone want this to look any different?!!! I love everything in this photo and the great news is that I bought almost everything from estate sales, flea markets, yard sales and antique stores. Many were gifts from lovely friends who know just what I like!!!

Well......I have digressed almost to the point of no return!!!

My whole intention tonight was to give a shout out about the WildHare Vintage Flea!

First of all.....did you notice the name change? I am in love with the name and feel like it is a great start to a new look and feel for the fleamarket.

We are back to having two buildings and in a matter of days all of the vendor spaces were filled....many new vendors and many of the same vendors that have been with me from the start. They will all bring the wonderful merchandise that you have come to enjoy and expect when you spend the day shopping at the WildHare Vintage Flea.

One of my favorite days is load-in day when I get to be reunited with old friends that I haven't seen since the market in March. It is kind of a mad house from sun up to way after sun set...trucks and trailers arriving.....figuring out how to back in (sometimes I can't even look) some vendors wanted to be in the Big Blue Barn because you can just drive through...vendors setting up.....chatting and laughing...decorating their spaces...looking at each other's merchandise and even shopping from each other. Sort of your typical family reunion gone crazy!!! We are a lucky bunch that is for sure.....and I am grateful for each and every one of them!!!

I LOVE this old girl........it is even older than me!!!
I hope that all of you reading this will come and visit us at the WildHare Vintage Flea......and that you will tell your friends or better yet, bring them with you!

We will once again be at the Bannock County Fairgrounds. In Building B....and the Big Blue Barn. I have no hesitation to say, that I think it will be the best market that we have ever had!

I would love to have some contests that will make it even more fun and exciting for our fabulous customers. Last year we gave away "WildHare Money" and we gave away free admittance........and we had a contest where several of you were able to get into the market not only free, but an hour early!!! Give me some ideas in the next week or so what you would like to win! I will see if we can fit that in!!!

Here are the basics: WildHare Vintage Flea

Take a look at my facebook page and watch for new contests and specials that will be coming up......Maybe you will win "WildHare Cash" to spend at any vendor at the market....maybe you will win free admission......maybe you will win a spot to be an early bird and get in before anyone else!!!  Good luck......You can also enter at Vain and Vintage, or Her Alibi, or The Mercantile!!!

The WildHare FleaMarket is also going to be home to a fun event that KPVI (channel 6) is going to participate in!  They are sending Matt and Libby from the "MORE" show to go head to head.....each given the same amount of money and the same amount of time.  They will be challenged to find something at a great price.....that our appraiser will then judge.  Who will get the best for the least worth the most?!!!  Any bets?  (Kidding.....I can't take bets!)

As always, admission is just $1.00 with your kids 12/under in for free.  Food and Beverages will be available.....as well as some yummy treats.

See you there!!!

RED LETTER DAY!!!!!

Today is a redletter day!!!

To begin with......I am updating my blog!  Could it have been since last fall that I have even been here?  Geesh!

Secondly......my good friend Jenn over at Lively Grace has nominated me for a Liebster Award.  Now.....I have to admit.....I was not familiar with this award, but is given to people with less than 200 followers who need a little support and recognition to keep blogging!  So....what is a Liebster?  Well....of course, I had to look it up and here is what I discovered......much to my delight!  Liebster is German and means.......are you ready for this?!!!  It means, sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing & welcome.  Well......that explains everything!!!  I am sure that it is describing the nominator....and not the nominee!!  Don't get me wrong Jenn.....I am grateful!!  Really!

Part of the deal is, I have to tell you 11 (eleven) random things that you probably don't know about me......and if you don't want to know, then you should quit reading right now!!!

1.    I have floated the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe.  There were dozens of hippos around our boat and it was a bit disconcerting.

2.    I do my best thinking in the middle of the night and my best sleeping on the sofa after dinner!

3.    When I am doing a painting project I keep my rollers and brushes in the freezer so that I don't have to keep cleaning them.  Once when I cleaned out the freezer, I found at least 3 rollers and about a dozen brushes.

4.    If I could live anywhere I wanted, it would be on the coast.

5.    I spend WAY too much money on books.

6.    I kind of consider myself an inventor.  It sounds funny, but I really do have some great ideas!

7.    I have 5 children (including stepchildren), their spouses, 15 grandchildren, & 8 great-grandchildren!  5 siblings & their significant others, 12 nieces and nephews and their  8 kids.  How many is that?  Wow!  I can't even begin to count Mr. WildHare's family.....whew......lots of wonderful relationships to try to maintain.

8.    Speaking of Mr. WildHare, we met singing in South Pacific..........not IN the South Pacific.....but in the musical......that was another lifetime ago..........I was Nellie Forbush.  Can you even imagine that?!!!  I was so skinny then that I had to wear 2 padded bras to be able to tell that I was a girl on stage!  Hahahahahaha!

9.    My motto is......one can never have too many pieces of painted furniture..........BIG pieces of furniture!

10.   I think that I have one of the best jobs in the world.  I love every minute when I get to do an estate liquidation.....or a fleamarket.  I have such great customers and vendors and feel lucky to be a part of something that is so much fun.

11.     Some of my best friends are Dumpster Divers.  (I have been known to dive a bit myself!!)  I love free stuff............and.....some of my best girl friends are boys!

Whew!

Then..........these are the questions that Jenn asked me:

1.  What place of business (store) would you like to spend the night at?
........It would be fun to spend the night at Vain & Vintage.......with several friends.......and lots of snacks!

2.  Did you have a childhood nickname, if yes, what was itWinnie

3.  What is the most interesting thing in your refrigeratorThe Lemon Possit that I made for the premier showing of Downton Abbey.

4.  What is your favorite pen?  The one in 20 in my drawer that actually works!

5.  When is your average evening sweat/yoga/PJ pants timeUsually bedtime...whenever that is.....I always want to be ready to roll if the opportunity arises!

6.  Peanut butter?  Creamy or crunchy?  Hmmmmm......the only way that I like Peanut Butter is in cookies and not very much then.  Is that un-American?

7.  What has been helpful to you to grow visits/followers of your blog or social media site?  Of course that would have to be all of my friends who support and sustain me.........

8.  What tool is your favorite?  That would have to be a paint can opener!!!  Then the brush!

9.  As CEO of your household, which would you choose to add;  chef or housekeeper?  Housekeeper......no doubt!

10. What helps you get started writing a blog post when it just isn't flowing easily?  Reading other blogs.

11. Have you visited the other nominated blogs yet?    Sorry....not yet.....but I will do that soon!

Now....to move onto another red letter day.......I need to create a blog for my next event!  Stay tuned!!!
